A Very Happy New Year to All Our Members

A warm welcome to the Probus Club of Salisbury which was founded on 22nd July 1983.  New members are very welcome.  

We are a diverse group of retired men with a previous professional or business background and who seek friendship, banter and interesting conversation reminiscent of the camaraderie which we experienced in the workplace.

Our members are drawn from all walks of life including the civil service, armed forces, law enforcement, legal and judiciary, engineering, finance, sales and marketing, information technology and many other business interests.

We meet twice a month at the Mercure White Hart Hotel in Salisbury on Friday mornings at 10h30 for coffee and a chat followed by a one-hour meeting from 11h00 when we usually enjoy an external speaker with an interesting story to tell.   

After each meeting members can elect to stay on and enjoy lunch which alternates between the hotel venue and a nearby local pub.  These are popular and lively social occasions.

We are apolitical, faith-neutral and broad-minded!  Wit is optional and a sense of humour is advisable.

Dress is smart casual.  Some members habitually prefer a jacket, collar and tie but the choice is yours.

Wives, partners and friends are invited to join us as guests for formal lunches at Christmas and mid-Summer and for periodic social outings. Recent trips have included the Railway Museum at Swindon, the Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovil, Bletchley Park codebreakers and the Army Flying Museum at Middle Wallop. 

The highlight of these outings is always the gathering for an informal lunch which follows the main attraction!
